Asbestos Awareness Course Overview

This course will give participants the knowledge to identify the different types of asbestos and how to safely remove asbestos in the following situations; in premises that are not workplaces, where the quantity of non-friable asbestos to be removed is less than 10m2 and where friable asbestos material is being removed for repair or maintenance work (can only cover half a square metre (½ m2) or less in surface area). Asbestos removal greater that these limits listed above requires the operator to be licenced and is outside the scope of this course.
